Acid Wash before Diamond Grind

This is required when the concrete is either previously polished or
tough concrete. All concrete is different and, in some instances, too complex for a grinder to remove the
top cap. CES will use a Mohs' Hardness test kit to determine how hard the concrete is. If the
substrate/concrete reads to be too hard for diamond grinding, an acid wash before diamond grinding will
be required, or the warranty will be voided as CES will not be able to guarantee its work. Removing the
top cap allows the epoxy to properly bond to the concrete and will enable it to last for years and years to
come. Grinding is a much better option than acid washing as acid washing does remove the top cap;
however, it does so in a way that epoxy cannot properly bond to it. We will do a diamond grind after the
acid wash to counteract this.
